Tammi Shamblin
Tammi Shamblin is a certified yoga teacher (RYT 200) with a deep background in movement, somatics, and alignment-based practices. She received her yoga certification through Abhaya Yoga in Brooklyn and continues to train with Abhaya founder Tara Glazier, focusing on therapeutics, intelligent sequencing, and the transformational aspects of yoga.
With a lifetime in movement that began with ballet at the age of eight, Tammi holds a BFA in Ballet with an emphasis in pedagogy and performance from the University of Utah. Her extensive teaching career includes over 20 years at Ballet Tech in NYC, where she served as a full-time faculty member and Director of Dance Academics. Her understanding of anatomy and movement mechanics was further deepened through a 500-hour Pilates certification from Body Tonic in BK, New York.
Tammi’s classes are rooted in somatic awareness, breath, and alignment, offering a thoughtful and personalized approach that meets students where they are. Her teaching draws from decades of experience working with diverse bodies—from professional dancers to beginners, and from youth to seniors.
Now based in Westchester, Tammi offers a welcoming and grounding presence in every class. When she's not teaching, she enjoys hiking, swimming, baking, and raising her young children, Seppy and Soraya.
